Nani Ma is Renu’s mum. She lives in India, and she cooks the way her mother cooked slow, hand-spiced, with the patience that good food requires.
The recipes we use are hers. Dal that’s been simmering for hours rather than minutes. Rice cooked with whole spices, not powders. Vegetables brought to life by ginger and tempered mustard seeds. Bread made on a hot tava, not a factory line.
This isn’t restaurant food. It isn’t quick. It tastes like it was cooked by someone who cared.
How we work
Nani Ma’s Kitchen serves Indian Tent Events bookings, and also caters independently for retreats, weddings, private dinners, and small gatherings across the Bath area.
We can serve as:
A full retreat or wedding catering offer (breakfasts, lunches, dinners across multiple days)
Sharing platters for celebrations
A chai-and-snacks lounge alongside your main catering
A single home-cooked dinner for a small group
Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options are part of how we cook anyway, Indian home food adapts naturally. Tell us about any dietary needs and we’ll make it work.
Sample Menu
To start – Three or four small dishes – e.g. samosas, pakoras, chana chaat, kachumber salad
Mains – Three or four mains across veg, vegan, and meat if applicable – e.g. dal makhani, paneer butter masala, chicken curry, aloo gobi
Sides – Rice, breads, raita, pickles, chutneys
Sweet – One or two desserts – e.g. kheer, gulab jamun
